Saut Mathurine is a spectacular waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation, cascading out of the La Selle Mountains. Saut Mathurine is very attractive but offers areas of seclusion; you can enjoy the unique features of the biggest waterfalls near Camp Perrin. Saut Mathurine waterfalls are one of the natural wonders of the Caribbean region. Surrounding the cascading falls are wonderful trail leading to a variety of flowers, birds, and exotic plants which adds more natural beauty to the area.
The waterfall drops to a depth of about 90feet and stretches across 100 feet of cool waters. A powerful show of excitement, Saut Mathurine roaring waters gives you a perfect swimming hole to enjoy. Climb to the top of the falls and plunge into the beautiful greenish-blue pool of waters below.
The water temperatures are very inviting, as the rainy months of May to October, fills the Saut Mathurine with gushing waters of pleasures. While the dry months of November through March provides an oasis to enjoy refreshing bath under the tropical heat. There is no admission fee to Saut Mathurine, but be prepared bring an umbrella as sudden burst of rain can occur any time. Other things to take with you are a good pair of walking shoes, lots of drinking water, insect repellent, a camera, and a cute swimming suit to enjoy the refreshing water on a hot day.
You can drive to the parking lot for the waterfalls, and then take a short five minutes’ walk to the spectacular Saut Mathurine waterfalls. You may also rent horses and enjoy the scenery on your way to Saut Mathurine from Camp Perrin, which is a lot more natural and relaxing trip to the falls.
